Pixie is a handwriting canvas with an AI companion. To answer you, it has to read what you wrote — so this page explains exactly what leaves your iPad, who sees it, and for how long.
When the companion takes a turn, the app captures an image of the page you are working on and sends it to Pixie's service, which passes it to an AI model provider to be read. That is the whole feature: without the picture there is nothing to answer.
Sent with it: up to six of the companion's own previous replies, so it does not repeat itself, and a short text list of any figures it has already drawn.
The page image is held in memory only while your answer is being prepared. It is never written to disk, never logged, and never stored.
Pixie's service stores exactly two things, both tied to a random identifier rather than to you:
If a page contains something you would not want a third party to process, do not ask the companion about it. The eye toggle hides the companion's ink, but the only way to keep a page private is not to send it.
Pixie does not ask you to create an account. On first launch the app is issued a random identifier, stored in your device's Keychain. It is not derived from your name, your email, your Apple ID, or any device serial. It exists to count replies against a daily allowance, nothing else.
Your drawings are not uploaded to a Pixie account, because there is no Pixie account. Nothing you write is stored on our side.
Your settings and the random identifier stay on your iPad. Deleting the app removes them.
Pixie is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has used Pixie and you would like the associated identifier cleared, write to us and we will remove it.
Because Pixie holds no account and stores nothing you write, there is little to request — but you can ask us to delete the counter and plan record attached to your identifier at any time. Deleting the app achieves the same thing, since the identifier is discarded with it.
If Pixie starts storing your canvases or offering sign-in, this page will be updated before that ships, and the date at the top will change.
